MCP server

Run planning poker from your AI assistant.

Connect Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or any MCP client to Estimay. Your assistant sets up the room from your backlog before the meeting and records the agreed estimates after it, while the team still votes in the room, in secret. Free, with no account.

Get connected

From zero to your first room in a minute

OAuth, as the guest your browser already is, and you can disconnect it at any time. Nothing to install, no key to keep safe.

  1. 1

    Add the server

Point Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or ChatGPT at estimay.io/api/mcp. Nothing to install and no key to paste.

  2. 2

    Allow it in your browser

The first time a tool is used, Estimay opens in your browser and asks you to allow the assistant, read only or read and write. There is no account to sign in to.

  3. 3

    Use your rooms

The assistant acts as the same guest as that browser, so a room it creates opens with you as its host, ready to share.

Connect via MCP Free

Works with any MCP client that connects over HTTP: Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, VS Code. Your browser asks you to allow it the first time.

Prompts your team will run every sprint

The assistant does the preparation and the paperwork; the cards stay with the people in the room. Pick a tab to see the prompt, the tools it calls, and what comes back.

For Scrum Masters · Before the meeting

Turn the sprint's candidates into a ready room.

Hand the assistant the stories you want estimated. It creates the room with all of them, in order, and gives you the link to post in the team channel.

Prompt

“Take the 8 unestimated issues at the top of our Jira backlog and set up a planning poker room for Thursday.”

Bridge: Your tracker's own MCP server finds the issues. Estimay creates the room.

Tool sequence

  1. 1Jira MCP: search issuestop of the backlog, no estimate
  2. 2create_room{ title: "Sprint 42 planning", stories: [8] }

Result. A room with eight stories, their keys kept, and its invitation link. Nobody spent the first ten minutes copying titles.

Acts as you

Each connection is one person: the guest of the browser that allowed it. No shared bot and no service account in your rooms.

OAuth handshake

Assistants connect with OAuth and PKCE. No API key to copy into a config file. Access tokens last an hour and refresh on their own.

Permission levels

Choose Read only or Read & write when you allow it. A read-only connection can look at your rooms and change nothing.

Disconnect any time

Connected assistants lists every one this browser allowed. Disconnect it and its very next request is refused.

See or disconnect this browser's assistants under Connected assistants. What each one receives and keeps is in our privacy policy.

The assistant or the room?

The assistant is quick at setting up and writing down. The room is where the team votes and talks it through.

Questions

Do I need an Estimay account, or to pay?

No. Estimay has no accounts, and the MCP server is free today. The assistant acts as the guest of the browser where you allowed it, the same one that hosts your rooms.

Will the assistant vote or estimate for us?

Only if you ask it to vote for you, with the card you chose. It never sees anyone else's card before the reveal, and we ask it not to offer a number first: the independent vote is the point of planning poker.

Why does it act as my browser's guest?

So the rooms it creates are yours: open the link in the same browser and you are their host. Each browser is its own guest, and a guest lapses after 30 days without a visit, so if you change browsers, connect again from there.

What does the assistant see?

What you would see in the room: its stories, people's names, who has voted, and the cards once they are revealed. Whatever a tool returns goes to your assistant's provider, so share only what your organisation allows.

Which assistants work?

Any client that speaks the Model Context Protocol over HTTP with OAuth: Claude (claude.ai, the desktop app and Claude Code), Cursor, ChatGPT, VS Code and others.

Connect an MCP client

Add Estimay to any MCP client: copy the URL, the command or the JSON config.

Free, with no account needed.

https://estimay.io/api/mcp

Claude (claude.ai and the desktop app): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste it. ChatGPT, VS Code and most other clients take a URL in their "Add server" dialog too.

The first time a client connects, Estimay opens in your browser and asks you to allow it as you, the guest of that browser. Disconnect it any time under Connected assistants.
