Guides
Estimay meets your team where it already works: in its chat or its call, and on its board. Each guide shows how to start a room from there, bring your stories in, and vote together with the people who join from a browser. Pick yours from the list, or read on for the short version.
Chat & calls
Start a room inside the app your team talks in. Everyone joins with the name they already have there, at the same table as anyone who opens the link in a browser.
Telegram
Open @storyvoteappbot as a Mini App in any chat and share the room to your group. Your Telegram name fills in, so there is no name to type.
Slack Experimental
Type /storyvote in a channel to post the room's card, and everyone joins from it as their Slack selves, live or async.
Google Meet Experimental
Start Estimay from Activities in a call. The room opens on the main stage, and everyone in the call joins it with a name of their choice.
Discord Experimental
Start Estimay as an Activity in a voice channel. Everyone who joins it lands at the same table, with their Discord name.
Import from
Connect a room to your tracker, bring a sprint, a list or a project in as stories, and send each agreed estimate back to its issue, card or task. No Estimay account, and nothing to install.
Jira
Connect a room to Jira Cloud and import a sprint's or the backlog's issues, keys and all. Each final estimate goes back to its story points field and a comment.
Trello
Connect a room to your board and import a list's cards as stories. Each final estimate goes back to its card as a comment.
Linear
Connect a room to Linear and import a cycle's or the backlog's issues, identifiers and all. Each final estimate goes back to the issue as a comment and its estimate.
Asana
Connect a room to Asana and import a project's or a section's open tasks. Each final estimate goes back to the task as a comment and into its story points field.
More ways in
An AI assistant
Connect Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or ChatGPT over MCP: it sets up the room from your backlog and records the agreed estimates afterwards, as you, with no account.
A spreadsheet
Import any CSV with a title column (an Azure DevOps or Jira Server export, say), and download the estimates as a file that opens in Excel when you're done.

- What is planning poker (scrum poker)? A quick guide for agile teams. How planning poker (scrum poker) works, why everyone votes at once, what the card numbers mean, and how to run your first free round in a couple of minutes.
- Story points: measuring complexity and capacity. What story points measure, how to size work against a reference story, and how to turn velocity into a sprint plan your team can actually deliver.
- Sprint planning: how to plan a sprint your team can finish. A practical guide to sprint planning: prepare the backlog, set a sprint goal, work out capacity, estimate the work and run the meeting with a ready agenda.
- Planning poker and team consensus: how to read a reveal. Consensus is not everyone agreeing. Six shapes a planning poker reveal takes, what each one means, and the one-step rule that ends the endless debate.
- Timeboxing sprint planning: give every decision a clock. How to timebox sprint planning: three nested clocks, a minute-by-minute budget for a 90-minute meeting, and what to do when the time runs out.
- Looking for a sprint poker alternative? What to check before you switch. Why teams switch sprint poker tools, a checklist to compare them, when your current one is enough, and how to move your backlog across in one CSV.
- Connect Estimay to Claude and other AI assistants: the MCP setup guide. Add the Estimay MCP server to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or ChatGPT, allow it in your browser, choose read or write, and disconnect it whenever you like.
